Junkyard showdown was a prototyped multiplayer car construction game inspired by TV shows like scrapheap challenge. The aim of the game was the cooperatively or competitively construct cars in a using various parts found in a junkyard and then compete in challenges like races, obstacle courses and vehicular combat.
I worked as a part time contractor for Steely Glint Games implementing the network side of the prototype. All of the gameplay elements like the races, weapons, traps and car construction was created before I joined. I took the existing assets and made them work over a local area network. The game was developed using Unreal Engine 4.
