The Thingy is an asymmetrical split screen multiplayer game where one person is a parasite jumping between NPC’s trying to escape. The other player is equipped with a flame thrower trying to hunt down and eliminate the parasite. This player only has a limited amount of ammo and is only allowed to burn so many NPC’s before they lose.
This was made for the 2018 Global Game Jam at the Glasgow Site. After the game jam we showed the game off at the local IGDA Scotland play party where we won the community choice award. We polished it up a little bit then released it for free on itch.io.
